Chromebooks may be borrowed by Library card holders in good standing. The loan period is 7 days. Chromebooks must be returned with all parts including the case. Only one Chromebook may be checked out by a patron at any given time.
Hotspots run over cellular networks and may not work in all areas.
Wireless service will be discontinued if the Chromebook is overdue.
The borrower assumes full responsibility for the cost of repair or replacement in the event that the Chromebook or Hotspot is lost, stolen, or damaged. The Library's IT Department will assess technological issues and charge the borrower accordingly. Missing parts will result in the following fees
Chromebook only replacement cost: $200.00
Case only replacement cost: $35.00
Cable only replacement cost: $4.00
Power brick only replacement cost: $15.00
Entire item Replacement cost: $235.00
In plastic container.
One Chromebook per patron.
All data will be lost when Chromebook is powered off or logged off--save all work to the cloud or an external drive.
Chromebook will be deactivited if not returned when due.
Henderson Libraries Chromebook Usage Instructions : Hotspot MUST be turned on before the Chromebook for the internet link to automatically work. Press the power button on the hotspot until the screen lights up (3-10 seconds). Allow 1-2 minutes for the Hotspot to locate cellular signal and link to the network. Turn on the Chromebook and it will automatically connect to the hotspot. Henderson Libraries controls the Chromebook and will be able to monitor your usage.
